A Veteran’s Testimonial

As a veteran of the United States Air Force, one of the most difficult challenges I have faced is finding support from others who have served our great nation. I have found that counselors abound, however, finding people that have had similar experiences is not nearly as easy.

This is exactly why we have formed a volunteer group.“Give Vets Hope” is simply a place for like-minded individuals to gather. For one purpose, to provide help for one another.

One of our goals is to successfully transition your current experience into something better and more meaningful.

Our mission is to support you and help you make healthy decisions. We can do this by employing active listening skills. We can show respect for one another by listening without interrupting or judging. We strive to validate who you are by providing the occasion to be seen, as well as to be heard, without forming opinions.

Homelessness is one of the greatest hurdles faced by veterans at this time. By and large there are more veterans in the street than any other contingent of society. Part of what we do is help you overcome these negative connotations by finding out your history, by listening, and how it affects your unique situation.

We are not therapists and this is not counseling. Rather, our purpose, going forward is to contribute to your physical and mental health by enabling you to tell your story. That’s our main focus, to help make a positive contribution to you.
